Business Network Setup & Management

Business Network Setup & Management for Small Business

Most small business networks get set up once — a firewall and a few access points installed by whoever was cheapest or fastest at the time — and then nobody touches it again until something breaks. Firmware goes unpatched, the Wi‑Fi password hasn't changed since installation, and the same flat network handles guest Wi‑Fi, payment terminals, and your file server with no separation between any of them. JLD‑LTS manages the network as an ongoing responsibility, not a one‑time install.

What's included

What's included

Ongoing management, not a one-time install — the same handful of things kept current on every network we run.

  • Firewall management — rules kept current, firmware patched, remote access locked down to who actually needs it.
  • Business Wi‑Fi — coverage that actually reaches the back office, plus a properly separated guest network.
  • Wired network design — switches and cabling laid out for how your business actually operates, not whatever was easiest during the original install.
  • VoIP phone systems on UniFi Talk — set up and fully managed as part of the same network hardware, plus the VLANs and traffic prioritization any phone system needs to run well.

Brands we work with

Built on network hardware that's actually worth trusting

Every network we manage runs on one of these — picked for reliability and the ability to manage it remotely, not because it was the cheapest option on the shelf.

Scope

Not your internet provider

If your internet connection itself goes down, that's between you and your ISP (Spectrum, Frontier, Xfinity, whoever runs the line to your building) — that's not us. This is different: managing the equipment behind that connection — the firewall, the Wi‑Fi, the switches — that everything in your office actually depends on to use it.

Why it matters

Why this matters for a small business specifically

You don't have a network engineer. Nobody notices when a firewall hasn't been patched in two years, or when the guest Wi‑Fi password hasn't changed since the router went in. That's the actual job — not fixing the network after it fails, but making sure it never quietly becomes the weak point.

FAQ

Common questions

What network hardware do you work with?

UniFi, Meraki, Omada, and Aruba Instant On. We can take over management of whatever you're already running, or set up whichever fits best if you're starting fresh.

Do you support businesses with more than one location?

Yes — networks across multiple sites are managed the same way, from one place.

Do you handle our phone system too?

If you're on UniFi Talk, yes — it runs on the same equipment we're already managing, so it's included. For a different phone system, we'll handle the network configuration it needs (VLANs, prioritization), but we're not that vendor's support desk.

What happens if my IT consultant becomes unavailable?

Every change gets documented in a shared file you own, not kept in one person's head. If JLD‑LTS is ever unreachable, your business isn't stranded.

How much does this cost?

Quoted as a fixed scope before any work starts. The first call to talk through what you currently have is free.

Ready to talk through your setup?

Ten minutes on the phone is usually enough to tell you whether this is a fit.
